My Story…
Hello! For the last few years, my friends and I have run at the Madox's Warriors Superhero Run. Well, we are doing it again this year. Our run will be on September 7th, 2024.
The Madox's Warriors Superhero Run raises funds that will go directly towards DIPG research and create awareness of DIPG and childhood brain cancer. Our connection to this cause is because of our dear friends, Sashira and Joel. They have a son, Adrian, who lives with childhood brain cancer. In 2020/2021 he underwent intense treatments including multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation to combat the effects of his brain tumour. Despite the many harsh side effects and ongoing follow-up appointments, we are so thankful that he is now considered stable. He is a true superhero for continuing to be a funny, spunky, clever kid after going through treatment! Gold is the colour for the childhood cancer awareness ribbon, so we named our team The Golden Girls as a tribute to Adrian - and not just a commentary on the age of our team :)
We invite you to join us in supporting this cause to continue research for safe and effective treatment for childhood brain cancer.
