Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
October of every year. We share some facts and move on (like many awareness months) The thing is when I had my 2 miscarriages, my whole world stopped but life kept rolling along for everybody else. That's how it usually goes right? Thankfully, I found Bridget's Bunnies at this time. I found out about #BridgetsRun and I decided this was something I could do to help try to release myself from the confusion of it all.
6 years later and this is my 7th #BridgetsRun. I am very excited about this fact and beyond proud that I have been able to help spread awareness in this way. We don't discuss a lot of things in our society that would help us navigate life a bit easier, unfortunate. Pregnancy and infant loss are one of those things and they happen at such a common rate we are doing a disservice to future generations and ourselves now by NOT talking about it. Somebody you know has had a pregnancy or infant loss. I assure you. We should be better equipped with skills to navigate grief and loss and be able to support each other in a meaningful way.
I do want to say thank you to @bridgetsbunnies for allowing me the opportunity to be the Run Ambassador for #BridgetsRun this year. It's been an honour to be a part of the #BridgetsBunnies family. I also want to thank you for your tireless work with a topic that many find hard to talk about. Many thanks to all who are able to donate or share about this amazing cause.
Description
Bridget's Run for Pregnancy and Infant Loss is a 1km or 5km charity fun run, walk or hop in support of Bridget's Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support and individuals and families experiencing loss.
Funds raised by Bridget’s Run support grieving individuals and families in our region and beyond through:
- Bridget’s Bunnies Comfort Kits
- Little Loss Libraries
- Grief Greeting Cards
- the support of local pregnancy and infant loss efforts
