Help Denise raise money

I started running a couple of years ago with the simple goal of moving my body.  It soon became so much more to me: a sometimes short but joyful escape from the demands of a busy life.  It became my space, my time.  A symbol that I matter, too.

As a mental health professional, I come across countless stories of women who struggle to factor themselves into their own equations. Over time, the impact of that can be devastating: disconnection, depression, anxiety, coping with substance use.  That's why I am running this race - my first in over 20 years (eek!) - as a gift to myself and as an acknowledgement of all the women trying their very best day in and day out.

In my work, I see first hand how amazing the programming at the Royal Ottawa is.  I am honored to contribute to that mission in this small way.
