My Story…
Life can sometimes feel like an unrelenting storm—a roller coaster I never chose to ride. For years, I’ve been battling ulcerative colitis, enduring the ups and downs of immunosuppressant therapies that promised hope but have yet to bring remission. Each failed treatment chips away at my physical and emotional reserves, but I keep pushing forward.
Adding to the weight of this journey is the responsibility of caring for loved ones who are also fighting their own severe health battles. Balancing my own struggles with being there for those I love feels overwhelming at times. Some days, it feels like there’s nothing left to give, but their strength reminds me to find my own.
Mental health in all this? It's a daily challenge. The emotional toll of feeling stuck between hope and disappointment, while trying to be strong for everyone else, is exhausting. I’ve learned that it’s okay to admit that I’m not okay. It’s okay to ask for help, to lean on others, and to take moments to care for me.
