For me, as the Foundation’s President and CEO, leading is about showing up and putting in the work. I'll be there on race day, running with pride for an organization that inspires me every day. Together, I’m challenging our team to raise $5,000, all to make a difference in women’s mental health research, treatment and care at Women’s College Hospital. We are grateful for the continued partnership with Shoppers Drug Mart, and all that we are accomplishing together. 

Here are some stats to get you motivated:

-  Women are twice as likely than men to experience depression and anxiety. This is due to factors such as lack of childcare, stigma and shame, transportation barriers and cost. 

-  Approximately 10% of women experience postpartum mental health challenges yet only one in five are receiving mental health support.  

-  Women represent the largest single group of people affected by post-traumatic stress disorder due to the high prevalence of sexual violence.
