Our story…

Women are almost twice as likely as men to experience major depressive episodes. They are also more likely to experience symptoms of depression at particular times in the lifecycle, such as during or after pregnancy, around the time of menstruation, and during the menopausal transition. Women are also more likely to experience anxiety, both in the past 12-months and in their lifetime, than are men. Roughly 20% of women and birthing parents are affected by a perinatal mental health issue, but only 1 out of 5 receive the care they need to resolve their symptoms. Women live longer than men, and thus are more likely to experience age-related cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s’ and other types of dementia.
