Help Kiley raise money

Once again I am participating in the Run for Women in Calgary, which raises money for the Calgary Health Foundation which unites hospitals, healthcare providers, volunteers and community partners. 

In 2025, proceeds from the Run for Women will go towards two of the many initiatives supported by the foundation: the Calgary Eating Disorder Program (CEDP) and the Women's Mental Health Clinic (WMHC). Your support will help provide funding and resources needed to transform women's health in Calgary and Alberta. 

About 55,000 people in Alberta have an eating disorder, of which 90 percent are female. According to the CEDP, close to 10 percent of adolescents will struggle with a mild or moderate eating disorder, and around 2 to 5 percent will require treatment. Early intervention is vital to lessening the impact of eating disorders, and the CEDP provides specialized services for Albertans as young as 13. The program aims to help families understand and address the causes of this mental illness, and offers outpatient, day-patient and inpatient treatment.

Nearly 1 in 5 women will experience mental health difficulties during their reproductive years. These difficulties impact child development, affect families, and increase the risk of suicide. The WMHC helps to support women through this sometimes difficult period.

Both of these programs are important to supporting women in Alberta. Thank you for considering a donation through the Run for Women. Alternatively, I encourage you to participate in a run in your city to support other women focused initiatives, to hear some incredible stories from women strong enough to share their experiences, and of course for some great exercise.
