My Story…
I know the weight of silence.
I grew up in a home where mental health struggles were a constant, though often unspoken, presence. They shaped how we coped, and how we connected with each other as a family. As a child, I could sense the weight of emotions, and I would tiptoe around that pain as I couldn’t fully understand it. I basically became numb to it.
Today, I understand the compassion it takes to truly support those who are struggling. While there are many incredible organizations doing this work, this facility speaks to me on a personal level because of my lived experiences.
I’ve seen what healing looks like because of my mom. She overcame so much, and her resilience continues to inspire me.
Her struggles are a constant reminder to me that no one should feel alone. Every story, no matter how painful or complicated, deserves to be met with understanding, dignity, and hope.
