My story began in September 2024. I had abdominal pain which I was sure was nothing serious and would subside. The pain became unbearable, so my husband took me to the hospital. It was not long before I was told that preliminary testing indicated the presence of cancer. I was devastated. More detailed scans were performed to determine the extent. I was in disbelief to hear that I had Pancreatic Cancer. How do I tell our children and family members. My husband assured me that we would get through this together. With the unbelievable support of family, friends, the teams at LHSC, Woodstock Hospital and CarePartners, I am far from facing this journey alone.I am currently going through chemo which has only been made possible through research and clinical trials. Family members and I are participating in the walk for Pancreatic Cancer to raise funds to ensure further research can continue in hopes to find a cure for this horrible disease.Please consider donating to my team to achieve our goal.
