Treaty 6 Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Servus Edmonton Marathon takes place on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. This land is the ancestral and present home of many Indigenous Peoples, including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, and Inuit. We recognize the Indigenous peoples that ran, gathered and played on these lands. We recognize these nations' deep histories, languages, and cultures and their ongoing connection to this land.

Please stop by the Edmonton Convention Centre, at your convenience, any time between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. There will be light snacks and prize draws throughout the evening. At the orientation there will also be site maps, a mock water station, demonstrations and other information that volunteers will find useful. Meet our team and ask any questions you may have about your volunteer position. Prize draws will take place throughout the night. We look forward to meeting you!
