My Story…
This year, I’m running the Shoppers Run for Women because mental health matters — not as an abstract idea, but in the most personal, real, everyday ways.
For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in youth mental health. Every day, I meet young people who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, systemic barriers, and the pressures of simply growing up in a world that asks so much of them. I’ve seen their resilience, their strength, and their courage. I’ve also seen how deeply mental health impacts families, friendships, classrooms, and entire communities.
My work reminds me constantly that mental health support isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. And that’s why this run means so much to me.
I’m running for the youth who walk through our doors unsure if they’ll be believed or understood and who leave knowing they’re not alone.
I’m running for the families who are trying their best, for caregivers stretched thin, and for the communities who wrap around young people with compassion and hope.
I’m running for those who haven’t found their voice yet, and for those who are still waiting for services that could change or save their lives.
Most of all, I’m running because community matters. When we come together, we make mental health care more accessible, more equitable, and more reflective of the people it is meant to serve. Every dollar raised helps build a stronger, safer, more connected community where support is close, stigma is pushed aside, and no one has to struggle in silence.
This run isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about showing up for youth, for women, for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by their mental health and needed someone to believe in them.
Thank you for supporting this cause, for cheering me on, and for helping build a community where everyone has the chance to thrive.
Together, we run for hope. We run for healing. We run for each other.
