Help Holly raise money

This will be my TENTH time running in this event, which, for the first time, is taking place downtown at Peace Park. The race is on Saturday, June 20th and in honour of this milestone, I will be running my first ever 10K! It's a very meaningful cause and always a wonderfully inspiring event!

This year, my personal goal is to raise $1500. Funds raised for the Calgary run will benefit Calgary Eating Disorder Program and the Women's Mental Health initiative through Calgary Health Foundation. 

Calgary Eating Disorder Program (CEDP) provides specialized services for Albertans as young as 13 years old diagnosed with specified feeding or eating disorders. Eating disorders have a 5-10% mortality rate, the highest of any mental illness, and suicide and cardiac disease are the leading causes of death among those with anorexia. Early intervention is vital to lessening the impact of eating disorders.

Women's Mental Health programs in Calgary support women with moderate to severe mental health concerns who are looking to become pregnant, are pregnant, or are up to one year postpartum. Over 600 women access mental health programs annually. Nearly one in five women will experience mental health difficulties, such as major depression or anxiety disorders, during their reproductive stage years.

Local women's mental health charities need our help more than ever so that they can continue to provide vital support and care to their community. These programs foster hope and resilience, and your support makes a difference. Last year, Calgary's Run for Women raised over $240,000!
