My Story
Imagine going to bed at night knowing that your children are hungry, and not knowing where the next meal will come from.
For thousands of families in Toronto, this is not imagination — it is reality.
My name is Sahm Ba Bakr. I am a student and an independent filmmaker, and I believe that stories can help us understand the struggles of others and inspire action in our communities.
That is why I am participating in the Beneva Spring Run-Off to support the Parkdale Community Food Bank.
This organization serves more than 13,000 families every month, helping provide essential food to people in our community who are facing food insecurity.
The funds raised through this page will go directly to the Parkdale Community Food Bank to help them continue providing food and support to families who need it most.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help ensure that someone in our community does not have to go to bed hungry.

Description
Raised funds will be utilized to support the ongoing operations of our organization, and to increase our ability to purchase high-quality food to support our programs as our client numbers continue to rapidly increase.
