My Story…
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Rebecca Run and the A-Team will be running again this year! The Rebecca Run funds ongoing research, advocacy, and support for families through CureSMA Canada.
Asha has just finished grade 9 at Bloor Collegiate and she just finished up her term as an Easter Seals provincial ambassador. When Asha was first diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy in 2012, there were no treatments for SMA available. Because of research funding from CureSMA Canada, there are now multiple treatments. We feel so grateful Asha has been treated with Spinraza since 2018 and then in 2022 she switched to Evrysdi.
Thank you for your support of the A-Team!
Description
On July 4th, I’m participating in the 25th annual Rebecca Run for SMA to raise awareness and critical funds for Cure SMA Canada —an organization that helps support children and their families living with SMA.
Cure SMA Canada = Support. Research. Hope.
Part of the mission of Cure SMA Canada Society is to:
- To fund the best possible Canadian research in search of a treatment or cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
- To support Canadian families and individuals affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy in every province and territory.
- To support Canadian families and individuals affected by SMA as newly diagnosed, during the affected person’s lifetime and the family after an affected person passes.
Help us make this possible by donating to my 2026 Rebecca Run for SMA fundraising campaign.
Thank you!
