Help Kirsten raise money

Hi friends! I’m back doing the Charity Challenge to raise money to help the Tumour Foundation of BC – and the families and communities that are impacted by Neurofibromatosis (NF). This cause is incredibly important to me as I myself have NF-1. 

NF is a lifelong complex condition that causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body. It affects each person differently and can bring medical, learning, and emotional challenges.

For many families, the journey can feel overwhelming. That’s why the Tumour Foundation of BC provides trusted support, education, and advocacy- so no one has to navigate NF alone.

By supporting my run, you are helping fund:

• Direct 1:1 support through the NF Health Line
• Trusted educational resources for families and healthcare providers
• Community connection and advocacy for improved care in BC

I was diagnosed with NF as a toddler, so I can’t remember my life before it. It has impacted my life both physically and emotionally. Having a disorder that many medical professionals haven’t heard of has been incredibly daunting. That is why I joined the Tumour Foundation in 2023 as a board member. I want to use my experiences both good and bad to help others with NF and bring awareness to this condition.

I truly think we can make a difference for people who are impacted by NF.

To make things fun this year I’ve decided to have donation tiers!

If you donate $150 you’ll get a puppet video from Sally Monster. Want her to wish someone a happy birthday? Give a pep talk? Lip sync to a Broadway show tune? Or get a video from Alanis Morissqueak, Squirreline Dion or Carly Spray Jepsen. Let’s make it happen! Video will be up to two minutes long with minimal editing and props. 

*Please let me know if you’d like the video by a certain date, otherwise I will film them after the run.

**If you donate more than $$$ I’m willing to negotiate on how long the video is if you’d like a longer one.

If you donate $500 you’ll get a painting from one of my dogs (however, due to shipping costs I’m keeping this local to the Vancouver area – unless you’re willing to pay shipping). These will be done using the peanut butter method. 

*Paintings can be picked up after the run (we can figure out a time).

And if I hit my fundraising goal I will wear a full costume (with the Team TFBC tshirt). Costume TBD.
