My Story…
I'm back for another year of the Charity Challenge in support of Spinal Cord Injury BC (SCI BC)!
Last year alone, SCI BC supported nearly 3,000 people living with spinal cord injuries and related disabilities through programs, events, and resources across the province. Since 1957, SCI BC has helped people adjust, adapt, and thrive after injury.
Here in the Okanagan, it means a lot to have a community that "gets it". Our monthly Peer Meetups in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and Kamloops offer a space to connect and feel less alone, our larger events throughout the year bring together 80+ people.
I'm participating in the Charity Challenge in honour of my joyful and kind Uncle Gary, who passed from SCI-related complications many years ago.
This is SCI BC's biggest fundraiser of the year, and every donation, big or small, makes a difference! If you're able, please considering supporting SCI BC Team Okanagan! You can also help by spreading the word on social media or joining us in June for a fun 5K walk/wheel along the Kelowna boardwalk (post-roll ice cream included!)
