I am lacing up my running shoes for the Beneva Vancouver Half Marathon on June 28 to run a half marathon in honour of my brother, Todd, who is bravely fighting cancer for the second time. Watching Todd face this brutal disease with such relentless resilience has deeply inspired me again, and hitting the pavement is my way of standing by his side in this fight. To turn this physical challenge into meaningful action, I am participating in the race's charity initiative to raise vital funds, with donations going directly to the Cancer Research Society. While training for this distance is demanding, it pales in comparison to the immense hurdles Todd overcomes every single day.
