Operation Smile is a global medical non-profit that provides free surgery and comprehensive care for children born with cleft lip and/or cleft palate. Surgery to treat a child’s cleft condition takes as little as 45 minutes and can cost as little as $240. It’s estimated that a child is born with a cleft condition every 3 minutes — that's about 1 in every 500–750 births.  

At Operation Smile, we believe that every child deserves exceptional care, no matter where they are born. With the support from generous and compassionate Canadians, we operate in over 35 low- and middle-income countries, delivering safe surgery where it’s needed most.
