My Story…
I will be running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon on October 18, 2026 dressed as a construction worker. I have already achieved 11 Guinness World Records.
I will be attempting another Guinness World Record in the process. I will be fundraising for the Daily Bread Food Bank. I have visited them in person to speak with their staff and I support the work that they do.
I am between the age of 19-44, work full-time and have a post- secondary education.
I work close to the Daily Bread Food Bank in Etobicoke in the railroad industry and have completed my education at the University of Western Ontario, Humber College and the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
However, the statistics show that due to the rising cost of living, any circumstance, job loss or stressful life event could place me in the lineup at a food bank.
I will not be buying my April TTC transit pass. Instead, I have made a donation of $143.00 to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
I will "put in my mileage" training for half marathons by running at least 10 km home from work. I will keep my reflective work vest tucked into my running belt as I train. This will help me remain resilient, dedicated and help me to remember the "why" of why I am running and for what cause.
Running isn't easy, life can be difficult but other people are facing more difficulty than I am.
I will no longer be training by circling my neighbourhood block aimlessly or repetitively doing loops. I will be training with my work vest tucked into my running belt for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Please join me in stopping an unneeded/unused monthly recurring expense, such as a transit pass, gym membership or music subscription.
That money can be used for a financial donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
See you on the sidewalk or at the start line!
