I am running in support of ALS Canada. I see ALS patients every day and it has affected my friends family and colleagues.
Sunnybrook is the largest ALS treatment clinic in Canada and one of the largest in North America. Sunnybrook's ALS clinic provides specialized, multidisciplinary care to approximately 700 unique patients each year. There are approximately 1400 people living with ALS across the entire province of Ontario any given time. With about 4000 Canadians nationwide living with the disease, Sunnybrook single-handedly treats roughly 15%-18% of all ALS patients in Canada.
