My Story…
Eleven years ago, in 2015, I stood at the starting line of the Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon. I wasn’t running for pace or personal records—I was running to support Across U-hub and raise funds for local youth in our community. Shortly after that race, life took over, and my running shoes went into the back of the closet. I completely stopped running.
Fast forward to 2024. Looking in the mirror one day, I realized just how much time had passed—and how much my health had drifted. Faced with an increasing weight and a growing tummy, I decided it was time for a change. I stepped onto a treadmill, took those tough first steps, and set a challenge for myself: I was going to run a full marathon.
In 2025, I completed my very first 42.2 km race. Without proper structured training, injury caught up with me, and I hit the wall hard at the 24 km mark. The remaining 18 km were a test of pure grit, but I dug deep and crossed the finish line in 4 hours and 20 minutes.
That experience changed something in me. Once I recovered, I committed to doing things the right way and hired a running coach. The hard work paid off sooner than I expected—this past February, I tackled an ambitious goal by running two full marathons in Japan within a single week, Personal Best under 4 hours!
Now, the journey comes full circle.
I am returning to where my story began: the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. This time, I’m targeting a brand-new goal of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Eleven years ago, I ran for Across U-hub to give back to young people. Today, I am running with a strong personal drive, but I realized something powerful: running for myself and running for the community don't have to be separate. I can strive for my personal best while continuing to uplift the next generation.
I am giving everything I have in training to hit 3:45 on race day, and I would be deeply grateful for your support. Please consider donating to my fundraiser for Across U-hub to help empower youth and build a stronger community together.
Thank you for being part of my journey!
