I’m running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon to raise funds for Jamii. Donate to support free arts and community programs.
It all started with a simple "yes"... the kind my mom gave before she fully realized what she was agreeing to :)
Now here we are-officially committed to the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, and there's no backing out for either of us. If she's in, I'm in...which means it's time to lace up, start training, and figure out how we became "marathon people" overnight.
Of course, she's not doing this alone. She's got the best cheer squad-my dog crew-ready to keep her and the team company (and probably outpace them)
We're taking on this challenge for something that truly matters. We're raising funds for a cause close to our hearts-supporting my good friend Omelette's moms workplace, which provides free art services to people. It's a place that brings creativity, comfort, and connections to those who need it most.
So here's to unexpected commitments, a little bit of chaos, a lot of training...and doing something good along the way.
If you'd like to support us on this journey, every bit helps-and we'll be thinking of you with every step we take.
If I reach my fundraising goal I will come out from behind the cover.
Fastest one in the family (obviously),
Leo
Description
Thank you for supporting Jamii, a Toronto arts organization celebrating its 15th year of bringing people together through free arts programs, community events, and shared creative experiences.
At a time when the cost of living is high and many people are feeling isolated or overwhelmed, community spaces like The Jamii Hub are more important than ever. The Jamii Hub is a welcoming community space on The Esplanade and a third space for many people. It is a place outside of home and work where children, youth, adults, and older adults can gather, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.
Your donation helps keep Jamii’s programs free and supports a space where people can build community, express themselves, and access the arts in an inclusive and meaningful way. By donating, you’re also cheering on the runners like me as we take on this marathon in support of Jamii’s work.
Thank you for supporting my fundraiser and helping Jamii continue this meaningful work.
