My Story…
Running has always been something I’ve enjoyed, starting from when I was 9 years old, running track and field for my school team, and continuing all the way to today, where I still compete for my high school. This half-marathon is something I want to do, something I believe I can accomplish, something that will motivate me and give me confidence long after the event.
The organization I am choosing to run for is the Canadian Cancer Society. My mom was diagnosed with cancer in early January of this year. Since then, she has stayed strong and resilient. By the time I run this race, she will have undergone six months of chemotherapy treatments on her road to recovery. This experience has definitely been an eye-opener not just for me, but for my entire family. It has shown me that you never truly know what comes next and how unpredictable life can be. Since January, I have been extremely grateful for what I have, knowing that I can wake up one day and have it taken away from me. All the donations I receive will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society and helping fund cancer research.
