This year's fundraising effort is especially meaningful to me. Recently, I lost my beautiful young aunt to cancer. She was one of the most caring, generous, and passionate fundraisers I have ever known. Even during her own cancer journey, she never stopped thinking about helping others.
Last year when I told her that I was doing some fundraising for a charity (2025) and shared my fundraising goal, one of the last things she said to me was, "You can raise more." Those words perfectly captured her spirit and continue to inspire me every day. They remind me of the incredible strength, hope, generosity, and determination she carried throughout her life.
On October 18, I will be running in her memory. Every step I take will be for her, and I hope to honour her legacy by continuing the work she cared so deeply about. My goal is to make her proud and to help ensure that individuals and families facing cancer receive the support they need.
