My Story…

My name is Kubra. I am a nursing student at George Brown College. I fled Afghanistan with my son in 2019, and after three years in a camp in Greece we were resettled to Canada in 2022.

Although I am very happy to be safe and able to go to school here, I am still very worried about my family. The group that helped me also sponsored my sister and her two young children in 2023 after she was widowed when the Taliban returned to Afghanistan.

Now I am very grateful to be a member of the Holy Trinity Refugee Committee. They are raising money to sponsor my two younger brothers who are at constant risk of being deported back to Afghanistan from Pakistan. Your financial support will help ensure that we are able also to bring my brothers to safety. Thank you!
