My Story…
What began as a fun tradition for a group of running friends became a life-saving moment no one will ever forget. During the Sudbury ROCKS Half Marathon, just 200 metres from the finish line, Paul Croisier suddenly collapsed while running with his wife, Lorie. She helped him to the ground and called for help—only to discover four off-duty City of Greater Sudbury paramedics nearby, who were taking part in the 10K race.
Without hesitation, they stepped in, performed CPR, and worked together to save Paul’s life.
Paul was rushed to Health Sciences North, where doctors discovered several serious heart blockages. A cardiologist later called his survival “a miracle.” Thanks to the paramedics’ quick action and the exceptional care at HSN, Paul is here today.
To show their gratitude, Lorie and Paul, along with their running group, Kelly Dion, Colleen Dans, Darian Guimond, Morgan Vine & Lindsay Vine donated $1,000 to Health Sciences North in honour of the paramedics.
