My Story…
Hello!
On Saturday, June 27, I will be participating in the Pride & Remembrance Run, and raising money for 2SLGBTQ+ organizations. I've supported friends and family who've done this run in the past, but this is my first year as a participant. It's my way of honouring my friends and former colleagues in the community, and I'm thinking of my young family members who are new to the community.
Unlike the ill-fated Earth Day event I planned on running with Kelly roughly 17 years ago*, I have actually been preparing for this endeavour. Take that, younger and more fit version of myself! You overconfident thirty-something fool!
Donations are appreciated, but never expected.
* Sadly, Mr. Hicks was unable to participate in the 2009 Earth Day Run, due to exercise-induced asthma and lower-body injuries sustained in the sole training session undertaken a week before the race.
Description
The pride & remembrance run is dedicated to lifting up and raising funds for important 2SLGBTQ+ programs in the GTA.
These 4 incredible non-profit organizations are doing amazing work in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The beneficiaries for this year’s run are: the 519, Casey House, Canvas Programs, and the Pride and Remembrance Foundation.

It’s fast and easy to donate, and tax receipts will be issued for every donation over $20. Every donation matters, as we try to reach our goal of raising $350,000 this year! The projects and initiatives that these organizations are developing will make a difference to so many members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and the community would be so grateful for your donation.
