Raise money for The Canadian Children's Book Centre

The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) is a national not-for-profit that helps Canadian parents, educators and families foster a lifelong love of reading in children and teens. We’ve been bringing quality Canadian books to young readers for over 45 years through our wealth of programs and resources. We also support the creators and publishers who bring these books to life, ensuring a healthy ecosystem of Canadian literature for young readers. We need your support to sustain our programs that reach over half a million kids a year in  2024!

The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) is excited to announce a new fall 2023 fundraising initiative. The CCBC will take part in the 2023 TCS Charity Challenge to raise money for our various programs, including Canadian Children’s Book Week, the awards programs and our YouTube special project, Bibliovideo.

The TCS Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising program that takes place all across the country. The in-person event is happening in Toronto on Saturday, October 15. You can register for a 5 km, a half marathon, a marathon or one of the other challenges at this year’s TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Registrants don’t have to be based in Toronto to take part, however, and can participate virtually throughout the entire month of October. Participants are able to take part anywhere in Canada by walking, wheeling or running outside at a distance of their own choosing (strollers are allowed). Register at bookcentre.ca/run and join the CCBC’s team, the Speed Readers, or start a team of your own!

Register now before prices go up September 20. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go directly to the CCBC. Funds will be put towards the CCBC’s programs, including the Canadian Children’s Book Week tour and other programs run by the CCBC. The virtual event will be hosted through Race Roster, online or through a mobile device. Our overall goal is to raise $5,000 to make a difference in the lives of young people through the promotion of reading Canadian. Whether you decide to walk, wheel, run or give, your donation will definitely make a difference!
