Triathlon Winter Workshop - Virtual February 14, 2021
3 Experts - 1 Hour - You Win!
What better time than the winter to best hone in on your triathlon skills for the upcoming season? We’ve put together a Professional Triathlete Coach (Jennifer Harrison) , Physical Therapist/Running Technique Coach (Denise Smith) and Bike Fit Specialist (Bob Olsen) to focus on swimming, biking, and running. Each athlete will have a one-on-time slot for each of the coaches.
Race Production by Trudy is a management group that brings you the Fox Lake Triathlon, Tri County Tri Series, Crystal Lake Half Marathon and the Ride N' Tie.

Our Workshop Coaches
How it will work:
- Sign up for a time slot (only 3 athletes will be on site at one time)
- Video yourself swimming, biking (trainer) and running (outside/treadmill).
- Send the video to a specific Google Docs.
- Each person will have 20 minutes to meet with the Swim/Bike/Run expert. Video your discussion, write notes and / bring questions for each of them to discuss.
- Go away with the knowledge of swim skills, bike fit, and run drills for the 2021 racing season.

About our Crew
Jennifer Harrison (JHC) has been coaching athletes for 20 years. Jennifer coaches a wide variety of athletes from pure runners to Ironman athletes. She works with all levels of athletes from beginners to professional athletes. She is an accomplished triathlete winning area sprint races to participating in the Hawaii Ironman. Her love for swimming brings her knowledge to the pool for this workshop. Each swimmer that participates will walk away with 3 specific things that they can do to improve their stroke. Not only form correction, but also drills to specifically address your limiters in the pool.
Denise Smith is the owner and operator of Smith Physical Therapy and Running Academy in Crystal Lake, St. Charles and Kenosha Wisconsin. Her continuous education in physical therapy and running techniques has made her the expert in this area. Specifically, she has mastered the art form of creating better runners through form analysis and developing new habits to help runners prevent injuries, improve their performance and efficiency. Denise is also the Race Director for the Crystal Lake Aquathon.
Bob Olsen is the owner of Wheel Werks in Crystal Lake. He has been custom fitting bikes to riders for the past 25+ years. He specializes and fitting a bike based on the rider and what the goals are of the rider. He will bring his expertise to this workshop for athletes to understand what an optimal bike fit is and how to maximize the power that each athlete generates.
Trudy Wakeman is the owner of Race Production by Trudy, a race management company that develops events in Northern Illinois. Events include: Tri County Tri Series, Fox Lake Triathlon, Crystal Lake Half Marathon, Ride N’ Tie, and working with Crystal Lake Aquathon, Patriot 5K, McHenry County Santa Run for kids. Along with events, she is an active triathlete and has completes races from sprint to Ironman.
The day will begin with a 15 minute overview from Trudy to discuss the next hour. Then for the next hour you will meet for 20 minutes with each expert to review your video. You'll walk away with knowledge on how to improve in your three sports.
