Fleadh (pronounced flah) is gaelic for festival! The 13th Annual Oak Forest Fleadh continues to focus on Fitness, Family & Fun! This year's theme is Fleadh around town and we have a NEW 5K ROUTE!

Our new route brings you through the neighborhood and past Oak Forest Landmarks, such as St. Damian Church, Oak Forest High School, Valley Kingdom Ministries, Ridge & Kerkstra Schools. The start/finish is just steps away from Oak Forest Bowl, at 153rd & Lacrosse. As you race through town, you'll see lots of green & lots of friendly faces cheering you on!

Fleadh 5K participants will receive a short sleeve race t-shirt* and goody bag* (*while supplies last). All sales are final, no refunds. The Fleadh 5K is certified by the USATF.

Strollers and walkers permitted at the back of the pack. No dogs, roller blades, bicycles, or skateboards allowed.

Race Timing
The Fleadh 5K uses a disposable chip timing tag that runners receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing (preferably chest) in order to be timed accurately. There is no post race chip turn-in or fee for lost or unreturned chips. This race is timed and scored by Time to Run

Runners MUST wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. The bib cannot be covered, holding it in your hand or putting it in your pocket will NOT read the chip. Do not bend the chip. Smart watches such as Garmin and smart phones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes for times on Smart watches and smart phones will not be taken into consideration.

Packet Pick-Up
CNB Bank & Trust, 5459 W. 159th Street, Thursday, March 3rd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, March 4th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can register for the race at the bank until 5 p.m. on Friday.


Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-Up
All event day activities will be held at the Oak Forest Bowl at 15240 Cicero.
Packet pick up and event day registration will be Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Registration fee for race day will be $25 for youth (under 15) & $30 due to reaching our t-shirt limit. Originally the price was to increase to $35
Parking will be available at Oak Forest Bowl, and the neighboring streets (see map - Lacrosse / Laporte / Lamon)

Race shirts and goody bags
Participants will receive a short sleeve t-shirt (first 400 runners). Also, participants will receive goody bags (while supplies last)

Age Groups
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over

Awards
Medals will be given to the top three winners, male and female, in each category, and each age group category. The award ceremony will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Project Fire Buddies
Our Family Parade Grand Marshal is Project Fire Buddies, a nonprofit organization of local firefighters who offer support to children fighting critical illnesses. Learn more about this wonderful organization at www.projectfirebuddies.org. Please consider donating an unwrapped toy to help them in giving smiles to some amazing kids. Toy drop off will be available at packet pick-up or event day.

Post-Race Events
Following the race, please enjoy refreshments, complimentary pop or beer and awards at the Oak Forest Bowl. Awards will be given at approx. 9:30a.

11a - Family Parade steps off at 151st & Central Avenue, and heads south to Oak Forest Park District. Local businesses, youth organizations. the Chicago Stock Yard Kilty Pipe Band will create one of the best parades of the season! Then continue to enjoy your day at our pubs and restaurants! Make sure you Fleadh around Town for fitness, family & fun!!!

Run to the Pub Training Program
Join Run to the Pub for our 10th Annual 6 week training series, every Thursday to get you race ready for the Oak Forest Fleadh 5k. They will meet at 6 different south side or south suburb Irish pubs! Locations TBA. Run will start at 6:30p led by experienced pacers then back to the bar for a FREE beer & raffle prizes. Registration includes a long sleeve hooded t-shirt as well.
