DANGEROUS WEATHER CONDITIONS FORCE THE CANCEL OF THE IN PERSON RACES
After 16 years it’s finally happened. The worst weather scenario possible has descended on race day. We are now not only looking at sub zero temperatures but also 20 MPH wind gusts that will create a real feel of -6 F on race morning! This makes for very dangerous weather conditions. And with the snow that is now accumulating on the greenways and roads and more in the forecast there will definitely be ice. With everyone's safety (including runners, volunteers, spectators, and the kids) in mind we, the race directors and the organizers, have decided to cancel the in-person race tomorrow.
If you aren’t local we will be mailing out, in the next week or two, swag bags, shirts (which are awesome), finisher medals and any additional swag you purchased. Please make sure you have your correct mailing address in Race Roster. Click Here to check. If you are local we will be scheduling another in-person packet pick up in the near future, so stay tuned.
And finally, for some exciting news. With the in-person event canceled, everyone is eligible to compete virtually! We still have a lot of cool prizes and awards. So, if you are interested in being in the running for an age group award or an overall award mug we will be accepting your results via Strava, Ride With GPS etc. We will be sending more information about the VIRTUAL RACE, including the deadline to submit times, on Sunday!
