Riverwalk Run Series: A Unique 2-State 5K Experience
The Riverwalk Run Series is America's only 5K series spanning two states! Join the excitement on a route that goes through the historic downtowns of both McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. All three 5Ks are in the evening, to encourage visitors to shop, dine, and unwind at our beautiful riverfront community.
Participants of all three 5Ks receive a bonus CHALLENGE MEDAL! Here are the details for this year's Walk the Line 5K:
- Date / Time: Saturday, July 20 at 6:30 pm
- Course: A picturesque 3.1-mile route that winds through charming Southern towns, alongside the scenic Toccoa River, and across an iconic steel truss bridge—one of only a few remaining in the US.
- Weekend Getaway: Make it a weekend! Explore the stunning NorthWest Georgia region, surrounded by mountains and rivers. Enjoy boutique shopping, riverside dining at Riverwalk Shops, and live country music performances at TOONEYS on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Community Impact: The Riverwalk Run Series is organized by the McCaysville Business Association, a non-profit dedicated to fostering economic, cultural, and social growth. Whether you visit for the day or stay in one of the area’s scenic cabins or mountain lodges, there’s something for everyone.
- Activities: Besides the 5K, our region offers rafting, craft beer breweries, hiking, fly fishing, and live music. Parking is free and conveniently located near the finish line at McCaysville’s City Park.

Race FAQs
- Shirt & Bib Pickup will only be available the day before event (FRIDAY, 4:00pm - 6:00pm) and the day of event (SATURDAY, 3:00pm - 6:15pm). The location for both days will be at the Riverwalk Shops restaurant Burra Burra on the River.
- Race day registration is available, unless event sells out.
- Water bottles will be handed out *after* the run. However, due to environmental concerns, NO water will be handed out along the course. Runners may bring their own.
- There are restrooms at the city park and at Riverwalk Shops, but there are no restrooms along the route.
- Event will proceed rain or shine.

- All Participants will receive a SHIRT & MEDAL
- Overall Female & Overall Male
- Top THREE Age Group Winners: Female & Male Age Groups - 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
- Because start & finish lines are in different places, race time is based on “gun to chip” (USATF Rule 245)
Parking - The primary lot is located across from the McCaysville City Park and on city streets.
