The scenery of the event is really that of Selwyn, with the Town of Lincoln and all the development going on, coupled with the Country and Rural feel, even a run through a vineyard. The route takes you through Rossendale Wines off the Akaroa Highway and back out onto Old Tai Tapu Road. Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km distances on offer, and a flat, fast course - what else could you ask for? The 10km is an out and back route. Sorry you don't get to run through Rossendale Wines but if you are 1st, 2nd or 3rd you will get a sample of the wines. Register today, secure your spot and tackle the Selwyn Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km. The Course is certified by a Certficated Road Race Course Measurer for World Athletics. The Selwyn Marathon will be held over the long weekend break of King's Birthday, starting and Finishing at the Lincoln Events Centre in Lincoln. Age Group categories Everyone in the Marathon will Start together, the Half Marathon Run and Walks will start at separate times and the 10km Run and Walk will start at separate times. Course The Marathon course is a loop course of 21.1km, bringing you back to the Events Centre before starting the second lap for the Marathon. The 10km will be a fast out and back course with 10m of gain throughout. The scenery of the event is really that of Selwyn, with the Town of Lincoln and all the development going on, coupled with the Country and Rural feel, with the run through a winery. The route takes you through Rossendale Wines off the Akaroa Highway and back out onto Old Tai Tapu Road. This is a fast course and we are expecting some great times for both the Full and Half Marathons and 10km There will be drink stations at approximately 4km, 9.5km, 15km, 21km 25km, 30.5km, 36km and at the Finish Line. These will have R-Line Electrolyte Drinks and Water. There will be cups at all locations, you do not have to bring your own cup or use a camelbak as many are doing now days. If you do run wih a vest you can refill bottles and/or bladders at the drink stations. |
