Sorrento Bay Swim
Registrations for the Sorrento Bay Swim open on the 1st October 2024!
The 2025 Sorrento Bay Swim is an open water swim for swimmers of all abilities offering the following 3 courses:
- 600m - Sorrento Beach to Sorrento Foreshore for junior and novice swimmers,
- 2,000m - Sullivans Bay to Sorrento Foreshore for experienced swimmers and
- 4,000m - Camerons Bight to Sorrento Foreshore for elite swimmers.
The Sorrento Bay Swim is a major fundraising activity for the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club allowing the club to continue delivering volunteer patrols on the Sorrento Back Beach and a nipper program that teaches water safety and first aid to the youth of the area. The Club has a proud history and tradition of surf lifesaving education, competition and patrolling achieved through the community spirit of its volunteer members.
With entries expected to be around 500 swimmers, and catering for both elite athletes and novices of all ages, we are planning to deliver our best swim yet!
Entry Details
Online entry fees for 2025 are:
- $45.00 for 600m (8+ Junior & Novice),
- $90.00 for the 2,000m (12+ Open, Seniors, Masters, Grand Master, & Legends) and
- $90.00 for the 4,000m (18+ Elite) swims.
For those swimmers wishing to compete both the 2,000m & 4,000m swims we have a discounted entry fee of $155.00. Please note all entry fees are inclusive of GST and Race Roster fees, so there will be no additional charges during checkout. Join online before 1 December 2024 and receive an early bird discount.
Please note that if you are planning to pay cash on the day of the event, entries will cost $50, $95, $95, and $160 respectively.
All participants receive an event t-shirt (enter before 1 December 2024 to ensure receipt of your nominated t-shirt size) and a coloured swim cap (each race has a different cap colour) in their race pack.
Registration will occur on arrival at the Sorrento Foreshore in the Finish Line area (near The Baths Restaurant), and swim briefings will be given in front of the Race Director’s tower in the same area. Courtesy buses will be available to transport entrants to the 2,000m and 4,000m start lines. Please arrive early to make sure you get to the start line on time!

Please note the timing devices need to be worn on the ankle and they must be returned to a volunteer at the finish line (non-returned timing tags and straps will cost $99.00).
