St. Thomas General Hospital Foundation

The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation plays an integral role in supporting patient care excellence at the St. Thomas General Hospital (STEGH) by independently raising funds to acquire patient care equipment, support educational endeavours, and upgrade the Hospital’s physical facilities.

Through the generosity of our donors, the STEGH Foundation has transferred over $25 million to the Hospital since 1985 and helped medical staff save lives and improve the health of thousands of patients.

Together, members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff:

• inform the community about patient care needs at STEGH
• conduct wide-ranging fundraising programs to support these needs
• recognize donors
• ensure proper management and allocation of donated funds
• follows the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards as well as the Donor Bill of Rights

Since 1985, the Foundation has:

• received over $30 million from thousands of generous supporters
• averaged operating expenses of approximately 22¢ per $1.00 raised The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable organization (Registered Charitable # 89081 6846 RR0001) and diligently follows their reporting requirements.
