Childhood Cancer Program

What is the Childhood Cancer Bravery Bead Program? The Southwestern Ontario Optimist District has adopted a wonderful project which serves to “bring out the best in kids”who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  Each year the District commits to funds for the Bravery Bead Program at Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre.  The program gives youth the opportunity to explore ways of coping with their illness and helps the children better understand their health care journey. Beads are not given as a reward, but rather represent each child’s individual journey through treatment.
