Help Amanda raise money

For participating in Kitchener-Waterloo Walking Classic

My Story…

I have struggled with suicidal ideations and other mental health issues most of my life, and until recently this struggle was unknown to everyone around me. As a Master's student in Community Psychology I dedicate my work to reducing the stigma around suicide and mental health, so that in the future no one will have to struggle in silence. I support the KW Walking Classic because I know first-hand the impact physical activity can have on your mental state, and how greatly it can support an individual's recovery journey. Barriers to physical activity can include financial and social barriers. The Walking Classic breaks down both of these barriers by decreasing the social stigma around mental illness, and raising money to buy appropriate running shoes for those with mental health issues who wish to participate in physical activity but do not have the financial means to do so.
