This 13.1 mile closed-canyon course is one of the nation's fastest as it winds through diverse geological formations. The start line is at the base of Cedar Breaks National Monument near Woods Ranch (about 0.2 miles into the Dixie National Forest at 8,408 ft in elevation (Lat-Long: 37.594145 N, -112.912180 W). The course winds down on a closed course on Highway 14 along side of Coal Creek. You'll smell the pine and aspen trees and clear mountain air and as you descend you'll be at the foot of stoic gray mountain cliffs and at the bottom red sandstone pyramid formations at the mouth of Cedar Canyon.You'll hear the sounds of Coal Creek all the way to the finish line in Cedar City near the Bicentennial Soccer Fields at 5,600 ft.
Bus loading will be at Bicentennial Park, by the soccer fields, and will take the runners up Cedar Canyon to the Start Line near Woods Ranch. Bag Pickup will be near the finish line by the refreshments and award stand areas.
5K Intermountain Cedar City Hospital is hosting a 5K race in conjunction with the Half Marathon. Runners for these races will be bussed to their respective starting lines in Cedar Canyon, and all will begin at the same time. Friends and family members of all abilities will be able to RUN THE CANYON and experience one of the West's premier running venues!

TEAMS
Teams are welcome to participate in the Cedar City Half Marathon! If at least 4 people (up to 8) people sign up, and for a limited time, each person will only pay $55! Teams are welcome to print their own shirts and run for whatever cause they want! Additionally, you may have as many teams as you wish, meaning you may A, B, C teams and so on.

The new finish line will be on the road next to the Bicentennial Soccer Fields (400 West 685 North).
Parking will be in the Bicentennial Softball Field/Exit 59 Skatepark area (665 West 1045 North).
Bus Pickup will be in Bicentennial Soccer Field parking lot near finish line.
Also note that since Coal Creek Road is closed, so access to parking and finish line area is from 1045 North.
Buses will begin boarding at 5:45 a.m. and will leave at 6 a.m.

Cedar City Half Marathon and 5K Course Map
The Cedar City Half Marathon and 5K have a new proposed course. The starting line for both the 5K and and the half marathon will be roughly the same, however, the finish has been changed to Bicentennial Park. The reason for the change was:
- Safety for the runners.
- Showcase the spectacular beauty the Coal Creek Trail has to offer.
- No longer seeing the finish line before finishing.
While the first 11 miles for the half marathon haven't changed, the last 2 will begin by getting off at 200 South, then turning right to get back onto Coal Creek Trail. Runners will follow that until they come to Veteran's Memorial Park, where runners will see the various memorials dedicated to the brave men and women who served our country, as it is the 15th Anniversary of 9/11. Runners will then get back onto Coal Creek Trail and follow that until Bicentennial Park.
5K runners will have a similar experience, however, instead of going onto 200 South, runners will stay on Coal Creek Trail. Other than that, runners will follow the same route as the half marathon.
The finish line will have tents, food, bathrooms, and other amenities to help the runners recover from their run.
Please note: the course is subject to change and there is a four hour time limit for both the half marathon and the 5K.
