My Story…
In 2011, I started training for Venus de Miles as a way to get in shape for my 50th birthday. I ultimately decided to ride 50 miles to coincide with my age. My fundraising goal was around $500 but donations kept pouring in, and I raised over $4,000.
Since then, I have raised more than $14,000 for Greenhouse Scholars. I also started the Whirly Girls Team with a friend to encourage other women to feel comfortable and confident cycling.
In 2015, an episode of transverse myelitis left me paralyzed from the waist down for several weeks. I fought to get back in the saddle and completed my 5th Venus de Miles ride with the help of an electric tricycle.
This year (2016), I probably will not be able to ride, as I've not trained enough because I spent my summer moving and planning my wedding. But I'm still raising money for Greenhouse Scholars! So please give generously to this amazing organization.
