Raise money for CASA of Tarrant County
You have probably seen the recent news stories of the crisis facing abused and neglected children right here in our community. You may have felt helpless, as if there was nothing you could do to help… but the truth is you can make a huge difference. You can help children find safe and loving homes by supporting CASA of Tarrant County.
Aurora’s Story
Aurora often wondered where the next meal would come from and how she was going to continue to care for her three younger siblings. After many years of neglect and struggling to care for herself, her brothers and sister, Aurora was removed from her home and placed in foster care by Child Protective Services. Her younger brothers and sister were placed in separate foster homes, and Aurora feared she would never see them again.
That's when CASA of Tarrant County came into Aurora’s life. Karman, a CASA volunteer, immediately went to work collecting information and reviewing records that detailed the experiences Aurora and her siblings had faced. She talked with family members, teachers, counselors, and others involved in the children's lives to get a deeper understanding of their circumstances. Through her diligent work as a CASA volunteer, Karman served as the court's eyes and ears, making recommendations to the judge on the best permanent home for the children. Karman recommended to the judge that Aurora be placed for adoption together with her brothers and sister. John and Deborah Phillips agreed to adopt all four children, and they became a forever family.
Please consider participating in the CASA of Tarrant County Superhero Run. Your support will make an immediate and profound impact in the lives of abused and neglected children by helping CASA of Tarrant County and its court-appointed volunteers advocate solely for the children’s best interests. Your participation in this event will raise a voice against the unspeakable and assist us in reaching our vision of providing a CASA volunteer to every child who needs one.
