My Story…

I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 10 years old after having my second tonic-colonic seizure 5 months to the date of having my first. I continued to have tonic-colonic seizures until I was 12 years old (16 in total). I am still epileptic but not sure what form of epilepsy I have. With the support of my family and friends I made it through the good and bad times. I am currently entering into my 4th year of university at Brescia University College working towards becoming a social worker. I have been fortunate enough to get my drivers licence and have my seizures under control with medication, but my story is far from over and I am looking forward to having the resources at Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario available to me.
