My Story…
Ethan was diagnosed with epilepsy in April 2017, his very first seizure occurred when he was 1.5 years old. He had pneumonia and meds weren't bringing his fever down so he ended up having a seizure as a result of his high temperature. This year he had a series of seizures occurring over a 45 minute time span and I wasn't sure what was going on so, I called an ambulance. The paramedic suspected seizure activity, they kept him overnight for observation at the hospital and sent us home the next day. I started noticing he would stare blankey quite often for 30 second time spans or sometimes longer. His family Dr. was not doing anything about this so I advocated for him and asked to see a neurologist. The neurologist performed a 4 hour EEG and found that he had experienced 3 seizures during that time and gave the diagnosis of epilsepsy. We are looking forward to participating in the annual seize the day walk this year!!!!
