Gobble Gobble...It's Turkey Trot Time!
This is the EARLY BIRD RACE...Saturday 11/18/2017 in Kennesaw.
Two weeks before Thanksgiving in 2011 we decided that we wanted to give back to all the participants who came out to race with us over the course of the year. Thanksgiving morning seemed to be the perfect time, and giving them a FREE race would be the perfect way to say thanks. We're continuing that tradition...If you've crossed under our finish line in any race from Dec. 1, 2016 - Nov. 17, 2017 you've earned yourself a FREE spot in any of the races.
NEW THIS YEAR...Early bird race. Everything will be the same...but we're letting you race on Saturday November 19 in Marietta/Kennesaw if you want to.

If you haven't crossed under our finish line this year...that's OK too...You can still come out and join us...it's just $17.

If you've raced with us between 12/1/2016 - 11/18/2017 then your entry fee is FREE.
We've spent a lot of time looking at every aspect of the event, and we've made some changes to make everything run even better.
We have several Bib/Packet pickup options available for you.
1. Bib Mail Out...for $2 you can have your bib mailed straight to your front door. We'll be sending them out on Monday of race week, and you can sleep in a few extra minutes on race morning...just show up with enough time to get in the start coral. Once you finish, you can pick up your shirt and any goodies that might also be included.
2. Early Packet pickup: There will be two locations for Early Packet Pickup:

3. Race Day Pickup...Check in opens at 6:30 am on race morning. Be sure to arrive closer to 7:00 am than 8:00 am. We'll get you your bib, and then after you cross the finish line you can get your shirt and any goodies.
Blessings in a Backup is our primary beneficiary for the event. In addition to monatary donations we will be collecting non-perishable food items at the Early Bird Turkey Trot. Please bring your food drive donations on Nov. 18 only between 6:30 am -7:45 am.
Yes...we'll have finisher awards, and you'll be able to get one it you want one.
Each race (5K, 10K, 15K, Half Marathon) will have awards for the Top 3 finishers M/F and the Top 3 Masters Finishers M/F. These awards will be based on Gun Time.
Age Group Awards
Each race will have awards to the top 3 in each of the normal 5 year age groups (10 & under - 75+). These awards will be based on Chip Time.
We'll have plenty of goodies to start your day off right. We're even working on getting some vendors to come out if you want to do some early shopping. As for the awards ceremony, it's Thanksgiving, and in the interest of time, we'll be doing awards as follows.

It's a great course...The course is flat!...but it's North Georgia, so NOTHING is completely flat.
It's a 5K loop, so if you're running with your friends who want to run further, you'll be able to run together for the first part, and they'll take off and finish up on their own.
The further you go, the more loops you'll do. We'll have loads of entertainment along the way, so you won't event realize it's multiple laps. You'll need to finish in 3 hours (we'll keep the clock going till the last finisher comes in, but the police & aid stations will be leaving). That's a 13:45 avg pace.
We'll have Long sleeve tech shirts ($15), Long sleeve cotton ($15), and we'll be getting hoodies ($20) too this year. Just pick out what you want, and we'll get you squared away.
Grab your buddies, co-workers, family, or random strangers and put a team together. You'll get a discount & a chance to get some great pictures if you all dress the same.
There's loads of benefits when you come out with a group...
One of which is the Team Check In Box
When you join a team you'll have the option to have your bib, shirt, and any other goodies put into a team box. The first member just picks up the box, and hands everything out to all the participants. No lines! It's quick & easy.
It is our goal to NOT put an event cap in place...however, about 1 month prior we will need to order finisher medals. At that point, we will not be able to guarantee finisher awards to registrations coming afterwards. SO...Register early.
This is one of the last chances to earn a spot in the 5K/10K championships, and it's a big group that will earn spots. Check out www.fivestarntp.com for a complete expanation as to how the spots are allocated.
Our events are designed to be fun and for the entire family. With that in mind any competitor, spectator, parent, volunteer, or sponsor, exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct or interfering with the positive, competitive atmosphere of the event will be asked to leave the venue and course immediately with no refunds.
All registrations are final. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferals.
