My Story…

As most of you know, I am an active volunteer with Camp Oochigeas. I started volunteering with them during the summer of 2012. I can state without a doubt that my ‘Ooch’ experiences have changed my life. This year, I am humbled to be running the Sporting Life 10K on May 14, 2017 in honour of Symone. Symone is the daughter of my friend, Michelle. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer (lymphoma) a few years ago, and after treatment at SickKids, she is now cancer free! Camp Oochigeas can change a child’s life – I have seen first-hand the impact that camp can have on the life of a child living with cancer. Ooch provides camp experiences to kids at SickKids, in the city at Ooch Downtown, and residential programs up at Ooch Up North in Muskoka, all free of charge to the families. Your donation will go a long way to help kids affected by childhood cancer experience the magic of camp.

Help send kids affected by cancer to Camp Ooch!

Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) provides children with and affected by childhood cancer with what they need most – the chance to be a kid. Ooch is the only residential camp in Ontario to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions providing access to campers in active treatment the friendship and fun of Camp. Operating 365 days a year, Ooch offers programs at a residential camp in Muskoka, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), three other regional cancer centres and at Ooch Downtown in the heart of Toronto.

As a registered charity that receives no government funding, Ooch relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, individual and corporate donors like you.
