Help Lauren raise money

For participating in Sporting Life 10k - Toronto 2017

Help me raise money to send kids with cancer to #CampOoch through the #SL10K https://raceroster.com/events/2017/6186/sporting-life-10k-toronto-2017/pledge/participant/2078638

My Story…

In 2012, I began my amazing journey with Ooch; working in the Hospitals, Downtown, Muskoka and now as a volunteer. Here I get to be part of a strong and caring community of likeminded people, who are all passionate about being apart of the mission to bring joy, fun, laughter and that camp magic to kids and families affected by childhood cancer. (I mean what is better then giving kids the chance to just be kids? And as my favourite guy Paul Newman says camp gives them the chance to ”kick back and raise a little hell”). So many of my fondest memories and experiences are when I worked at SickKids Hospital, which sounds bizarre to say, BUT it’s true. I got to create friendships with the coolest kids and kindest families I know. Whether it was through throwing glitter and paint all over the clinic (opps!), playing endless rounds of Spot-It!, driving around the Cash Cab giving out speeding tickets or simply just reading the ‘Book of Awesome’ - it was in these moments where I saw the strength and resilience that camp helps build in children affected by childhood cancer. I am SO excited to be running the SL10K for the 5th time to help raise money to send kids to camp. Guess what? You can be apart of this magic too! Ooch runs solely of the donations of generous donors.. just like you! That’s right You! Thank you for support! This one’s for you Emperor O - Miss You!
