My Story…
There will probably be a moment in all of our lives when something happens and you realize your world has changed irrevocably. For ourson Sam, this moment came when he was six years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia. Sam and the rest of our family had to quickly figure out a way for Sam to follow all the protocols of his cancer treatment while still allowing him to enjoy being a kid. The team from Camp Ooch was our invaluable guide though this. It started with treasured visits and playtime in hospital, and six months later when it was time for residential camp they gave our six year old Sam a place he felt safe enough to go all on his own. They made it safe for us as parents to let him go and to trust that he could have this special childhood experience in a safe environment. Sam completed his treatment on March 13 this year and our entire family will mark this milestone by running to help Ooch continue to help others who find themselves where Sam did. We appreciate all your support.

Help send kids affected by cancer to Camp Ooch!
Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) provides children with and affected by childhood cancer with what they need most – the chance to be a kid. Ooch is the only residential camp in Ontario to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions providing access to campers in active treatment the friendship and fun of Camp. Operating 365 days a year, Ooch offers programs at a residential camp in Muskoka, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), three other regional cancer centres and at Ooch Downtown in the heart of Toronto.
As a registered charity that receives no government funding, Ooch relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, individual and corporate donors like you.
