My Story…

I'm running the Sporting Life 10K for the fourth time, in support of Camp Ooch. I volunteer year-round with Ooch in Toronto, and this will be my 8th year volunteering as a summer counselor up in Muskoka. As you may know, I'm also a teen cancer survivor, and went to Ooch for 3 years. You can see some of my story at http://youtu.be/tFv9YYFWlYM My biggest take-home about Ooch is that it's a place where kids can be normal. You get away from the medical tests, the procedures, and everything that's limiting you as a childhood cancer patient. It's a place where people understand what you're going through - you can just let go and be a kid again. I'm hoping to raise $1,750, the cost of sending a kid to camp for a week and I'd love any support you're able to give! Thanks so much! -Eric

Help send kids affected by cancer to Camp Ooch!

Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) provides children with and affected by childhood cancer with what they need most – the chance to be a kid. Ooch is the only residential camp in Ontario to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions providing access to campers in active treatment the friendship and fun of Camp. Operating 365 days a year, Ooch offers programs at a residential camp in Muskoka, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), three other regional cancer centres and at Ooch Downtown in the heart of Toronto.

As a registered charity that receives no government funding, Ooch relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, individual and corporate donors like you.
