$310.00 Goal: $500.00
When I was 11 years old I was diagnosed with a kidney disease which could lead me to kidney transplantation. I was told by the doctors I was not supposed to run, jump, ride a bike and even climb the stairs. I was also told I would not be able to deliver kids. I had two choices: either stay home and do nothing or do some sports to stop my kidney from moving down and strengthen the lower back muscles.
I chose the second option as I had a goal not to have any surgery.
Since then, at the beginning of each year I usually write down all my goals for the upcoming year as I truly believe that everything is possible. So this year, for some reason, one of my goals was to run my first 5K race. I used to run pretty well at school and college. For me it was not only a matter of doing some exercise, it was my personal proof that I can actually change my health situation. When my husband sent me the info about this race I thought it is a sign and I need to participate. And if only I could help people from Africa make their lives better that would be great. There is so much money in this world and so many poor and hungry people out there! Something needs to be changed. I thought it is the right time for me to start making baby steps towards making this world a better place for everybody. Please help me achieve my goal. May be this is your first big step towards making this world a better place, who knows?
