NEED2 is a Suicide Prevention, Education, and Support Non-Profit in Victoria, BC that assists youth in our community and across the country. NEED2 was founded in 1970 by a group at UVIC where it was operated a crisis line. Today, it is the operator of www.youthspace.ca, an online crisis chat portal that operates nightly from Victoria, BC between 6pm to midnight and is the only chat service that serves ALL of Canada for youth under 30. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in youth between 15-24. Today in Canada alone, 11 people will die by suicide and another 111 will attempt to end their lives.
