For participating in Putting the Boots to ALS 5k Run/Walk 2018

Our story…

Capt. James Sparks was diagnosed with ALS in April 2017, forcing him to trade fighting fires with having to fight this cruel disease. Since then James has been staunchly battling this disease with the hope of prolonging his time with his daughter. He is hopeful that his efforts to remain as healthy as possible will buy enough time for medical advances to find a cure. We walk in support of Sparky and his courageous efforts to maintain his health and well-being. We pray for a cure so that Sparky can continue to be the wonderful hero, friend, and father that we know him to be.
